Debt and the Rosetta Stone

Debt forgiveness in prebiblical times was handled more humanely  by assigning debtors to public works or the military  Today economies both personal and public are in need of debt redemption without strife or chaos  What is unpaid weighs on the backs of everyone  A healthy economy suggest that all work to their capacity when given the opportunity by just governors   Source   And Forgive Them Their Debts  by Michael Hudson    distribution  delanceyplace.com

"“In the Balkans the transition is over,” Remzi Lani, an Albanian political analyst, told me some time ago. But unlike in many post-Communist countries, Mr. Lani didn’t mean a transformation from dictatorship to democracy. “We transitioned from repressive to depressive regimes.”" "He is right. The old Communists and radical ethnic nationalists are largely gone; in their places is stagnation — economic, social and political." There are approximately fifty thousand Serbians in the Tampa, St. Petersburg area of the United States.  People move outside their national borders for improved living conditions.   A better life meant leaving their country, and sometimes family behind. A strange and wonderouse tale

Image
As a student teacher, I met children who had very little.  Of course, there were those who had a sufficient life.  That made an impression on me and it prompted this poem.  Values are created in part by what we have and don't have. Santa Claus makes all children happy, the ones who have and those who have not - at least in this poem.  After two years of satisfactory coursework, the University of South Florida denied my graduation, this poem is not the only idea they disagreed with.  Education is a bureaucracy whose aim is to socialize your child.  As one teacher told me, "teaching is the tip of the iceberg."   SANTAHOOD IS COMING TO TOWN a strange and wondrous tale by charles mistretta 93'   ONCE UPON A MIDNIGHT DREARY, I GRABBED MY BAG IN SUCH A FURY, WANTING TO PLEASE LITTLE GIRLS AND BOYS. THOSE REINDEER GROANED AND MUSED WITH RANCOR, THEN NEVER WAS HEARD SUCH SNORTS OF BANTER, QUIVERING I FILLED...

Another offer declined for white house post

Image
WASHINGTON—As the Trump administration scrambles to find a replacement for outgoing advisor John Kelly, officials announced Monday that a high-level White House ficus would leave for the State Arboretum of Virginia after declining the president’s offer to be chief of staff. “The ficus has been honored to serve President Trump and the American people these last several months and plans to continue advancing the MAGA cause as a member of the private sector,” read a statement drafted by an aide for the ficus, noting that the potted shrub was one of the longest-tenured and most-trusted members of the Trump administration, spending countless hours working alongside the president from a sunny spot inside the Oval Office. “Rumors that the ficus was forced out following a heated argument with Jared Kushner are simply untrue. The ficus will spend the next few weeks helping with the transition of its replacement, a large fern, before departing to work in the tropical p...
