Isolation
As a people we work and expect the opportunity for a life without strife. Are we informed when trade is unfair? Only when jobs are few and prices are high do we realize there is something wrong with the economy. Demanding international economic equality is good when we all benefit equally. The chance of this happening is sparse. Other countries have already isolated portions of the globe, or products and resources for their exclusive control. The United States is following the well established norm, albeit late, but also with an undoubtedly heavy hand.
