Take sides

Image
"Gorg Schartz eats some bade beetle grubs, and the art of dance is born." The Far Side is a single-panel comic created by Gary Larson and syndicated by Chronicle Features and then Universal Press Syndicate, which ran from December 31, 1979, to January 1, 1995 Some people didn't get it.  They wrote the publisher and demanded that the comic be removed.  In the sixties a lot of people ate bad grubs.  Some of them are still here and I'm sure they enjoyed The Far Side.  Everyday normal straight people loved it to! Covid benefits: a historical perspective

As a result of a significant decrease in Europe's population...  "People from all walks of life read about the ancient past, studying books in the hope of recreating Cicero’s ideal of a civic regeneration through education." "It was this atmosphere of social and economic mobility, literacy and widespread participation in government that led to (a) the Florentine Renaissance." Source: www.politico.com

Live and let die

Two balls sitting on a park lawn under the shade of an oak tree   One is green the other is red  They are inflated and ready for game  Won't anyone play with us  The statue in the background was there since the park's beginning and demanded that the balls be removed because they were trespassing  The park manager kicked both balls out of the park  One was run over by a car and the other was now the property of a happy child

A squawking parrot or chanting moms it makes no difference today in the midst of the political and personal health turmoil   Do what what works, but does it  The pet still begs for food in a voice so loud the whole neighborhood knows it's feeding time  People beg for justice and fair play and they gather in city after city seeking resolution but they are getting only retribution  The water gun is a temporary fix for an obnoxious bird  Tear gas never works when people feel their freedoms are diminishing

Vaccines for Covid-19 are not safe

A startling talk by Dr. Carrie Madej that shows that fringe science is being made real in our time.  If successful this will alter the course of human evolution for countless generations without a return to genetic normality. Picture:  Character Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) from the series 'Fringe.'

Opinion: We as a country would rather fight the odds of contracting a non lethal form of Covid-19 than use confirmed methods for eliminating the virus in the US. “The countries that have succeeded have been the ones that have had real political and public will unite...” Sources:  The New York Times, Census Bureau   Kennedy Elliott, NGM Staff   www.nationalgeographic.com

В Россию с любовью

Americans believe the police are protecting themselves from presidential angst - the loss of their jobs  Do Russians believe the same way about their leader   By now they must see the propaganda on the wall ( which is no longer there )  How long will a lifetime of control last for Mr. Putin   How long can authoritarianism last for any country Some of the above is obviously not true - read the disclaimer at the top of this page  Of course some will take it as it is written because they want to make it so Sources:   wikipedia.com  theguardian.com    Adapted from Jennifer Mercieca’s just published book about Trump’s rhetoric: Demagogue For President: The Rhetorical Genius of Donald Trump , Texas A&M University Press and reprinted with permission by the guardian

If the banal bothers you  It won't be found here Just gnashing and dashing The fruits malcontent A lifetime in perilous jaded rent For memories and feelings with earnings ill spent I can find the root of my problems, but the tree still grows And those who find shade with me also know The fruit is bitter The shade does more good Than feed an appetite  That never was good Source Daz3d artist unknown

How well does Putin play the fiddle

Image
John Bolton suggests that Putin can play Trump like a fiddle . The truth is that under the forty-fifth U.S. president, the bilateral relationship with Russia is now as bad as at any time since the early 1980s.  By Dmitry Trenin June 26, 2020  .themoscowtimes.com "The issue of transfer of power is relevant for Russia… The stability of the state structure and the prospects for the country’s development ultimately depend on the strength of political institutions, on the trust of people in them and on the influx of new forces into politics . Otherwise — inertia, stagnation and political apathy. We know from recent history what dangers they pose.” --  Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev A view presented as others see us.  Bolten's book, The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir, is seen as a premeditated vehicle intended to make him rich - the opinion of the Moscow Times.  Is chaos a way of life?  Why

Trump looses favor with Putin

Image
Putin Considering Not Running Trump for Reëlection Trumps poor performance at the polls gives communist lead pause to support a political looser      In his own country D.T. would have been resigned to a lessor post     In fact there is talk in the F.S.B. community for plans to do just that should their supreme commander give it the DA!
