I like living things nearby, from a dock full of turtles to the endless appearance of lizards my dog likes to chase 

Siamese fighting fish display complex behavioral patterns and social interactions, which vary among individual specimens.[38][39] Research indicates they are capable of associative learning, in which they adopt a consistent response following exposure to new stimuli.[39] These characteristics have made bettas subject to intensive study by ethologists, neurologists, and comparative psychologists.[40][41][42]
