Annual inflation, as measured by the consumer price index (CPI), rose from 3.4 percent in August to 3.7 percent in September, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported Wednesday.

A day later, the BLS reported that wholesale prices in September experienced their highest monthly jump in more than four years.
