Being Green


Still pools keep algae to a minimum with aeration  This pond was so green the sand bottom could not be seen  Since then a neighbor has taken up the cause to reverse algae blooms and the oxygen they consume by laying pipes almost the entire length of the pond and pumping in air  All ponds in this area use this accepted method to keep local still waters free of algae  It is a wonder this method is not used for the Washington Reflection Pool -  If it is used does it work?


The Virginia contracting firm Atlantic Industrial Coatings will now receive $13.1 million to repair the reflecting pool, the Times reported.

The firm previously worked on the swimming pools at Trump's Sterling, Virginia, golf club and was awarded a no-bid contract last month. The Interior Department reportedly added $6.2 million to the existing contract last week.



Today our pond water is blue again and fish have returned
