The president who thought he thought

Image
"Whether we call it gut feelings, a 'sixth sense,' or something else, we have all experienced intuition at one time or another. Of course, gut feelings are often wrong (how many times during aircraft turbulence have you been sure your plane was going down?), but they do seem to be right much of the time. Psychologists note that people subconsciously pick up information about the world around us, leading us to seemingly sense or know information without knowing exactly how or why we know it. But cases of intuition are difficult to prove or study, and psychology may only be part of the answer." He does things his way.  So did Fidel Castro and Joseph Stalin to name a few. The only difference is that the United States is a Democratic Republic, whereas the others were dictatorships.  source article   www.livescience.com  photo-internet

Humility

Image
We kill ourselves expecting recognition or remuneration for our efforts. Some continue going forward when they are absolutely wrong and the balance quit before a good idea bears fruit. If you must have a judgment from your peers as some do, they may commit a crime, or walk-in space, invent the internet and generally do what a few in their field are able to do.  The rest of us must accept what crumbs the humble life offers and be grateful. God bless the child that's got his own.

Who are we living for

" Oligarchy rules the United States : the republic has been ransacked, its commonwealth privatised, and rentierism runs amok." Unfortunately all the evidence is in and the facts are true - America is in the hands of the few and the many pay dearly for what is left.  Will a change in government make a difference?   Source article   theguardian.com Or, Lets Face the Music and Dance Music video by Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra performing Let's Face The Music And Dance (Audio). © 2019 Universal Music Operations Limited

Depression - a vague explanatiuon

Image
Depression is something you live with, not by choice, an uninvited guest who visits unannounced and makes you wish you were dead!  Be it chemical, or social, self imposed or impossible to ignore, it lingers on with no permanent cure.  Suicide is not a cure it is a way out with a high price.  Think of going to a theater and watching a performance you think a waste of  your time.  You leave before it is finished.  Have you not missed anything? Was it worth staying for?  I watched The Last Picture Show when it appeared in theaters in 1971.  I was so disillusioned with the movie I left, then came back, and I was glad I returned.  The film was nominated for eight Academy Awards.  I was looking at a slice of life I felt uncomfortable with.  Real life, the one you live everyday, is no different. If you leave before the end you might miss something terrific.

Nuclear submarines' function

Image
"The first practical design of a submarine-based launch platform was developed by the Germans near the end of World War II involving a launch tube which contained a V-2 ballistic missile variant and was towed behind a submarine, known by the code-name Prüfstand XII. The war ended before it could be tested, but the engineers who had worked on it went on to work for the United States and for the Soviet Union on their SLBM programs. These and other early SLBM systems required vessels to be surfaced when they fired missiles, but launch systems eventually were adapted to allow underwater launching in the 1950-1960s. A converted Project 611 (Zulu-IV class) submarine launched the world's first SLBM, an R-11FM (SS-N-1 Scud-A, naval variant of the SS-1 Scud) on 16 September 1955.[1] Five additional Project V611 and AV611 (Zulu-V class) Submarines became the world's first operational ballistic missile submarines (SSBs) with two R-11FM missiles each, entering service in 1956–57...

Remember friends

Image
I made a friend today. We acted garish, strange and gay. What was on our minds, so foolishly sublime? I can't tell you! What I do know is is this: I want to share those feelings grand again. Invite my soul, sins and all. Let's make company no need to call. We'll jiggle, juggle, giggle and cry, Share stories, lips and lies. And always be friends as the crow flies. St,. Petersburg Florida 1999.   The word gay in this poem uses the traditional meaning of happy.

"restrain executive power and reduce the debt"

Image
President Trump  Credit  Samuel Corum for The New York Times  photo edited "We need someone who could stand up, look the president in the eye and say: “Enough, sir. We’ve had enough of your indecency. We’ve had enough of your lies, your bullying, your cruelty, enough of your insults, your daily drama, your incitement, enough of the danger you place this country in every single day. We don’t want any of this anymore, and the country certainly can’t stand four more years of it.”" When we stop objecting to the outrage of political power then we become the consequence of that agenda.  I am an American and do not align my self with the values of those who would profit for profit's sake.  Source  nytimes.com   By Joe Walsh   Mr. Walsh is a former Republican member of Congress from Illinois.

Russians resort to gas saving vehicles

Image
Vladimir Putin is encouraging Russian citizens to drive motorbikes instead of cars and thus reduce the effect of US Oil Sanctions.   Of course this is not a fact, but the real story can be found here .  Leaders of countries will do anything to remain at the center of world attention.  Why don't they spend their energy solving social and economic problems rather than drawing attention to themselves?  This proposition is very difficult for autocrats who do not tolerate any kind of opposition.  Source  https://news.yahoo.com

Puerto Rico's Social Movement

"Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló has announced that he will leave his office on Aug. 2. This brings an end to a political stand-off with tens of thousands of Puerto Rican protesters who demanded he leave after sexist, homophobic and offensive text messages that he exchanged with his inner circle were made public." Other countries appear as other worlds that are hard to comprehend.  Social media helps others in other places to feel the need to empathize and relate in more than a pitiful way.  This podcast will help in understanding the plight of the Puertorican people.

Boeing 737 Max - aerodynamically disfunctional

Image
Oversized engines cause this plane to fly unreliably  The position of the engines on the 737 is above the wings resulting in an uncontrollable vertical acceleration that was impossible to correct using the MCAS software solution  Software modifications to date will not correct the problem without hardware modifications  The  diameter of the fans within the engines determine thrust  Is it possible that aerodynamic integrity has been compromised in order to compete with other aircraft manufacturers
